Small - Lena

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal 17 May 1895

Lena Small was born June 18, 1863, and died May 8, 1895. She united with the Christian Church Nov. 16, 1886, and lived a devoted Christian life until death called.

Lena was the oldest of three sisters, two of whom with their parents are left to mourn the loss of a loving sister and kind, affectionate daughter. She will be missed in her home, in the church and in the community; but she is free from pain and sorrow and even death has no more power over her. She has gone from this world of death and darkness to a land of life and light. Her last words to her loving parents and sisters were these: “I am going home; I am prepared.” So dear, weeping ones, dry your tears; Lena is at rest. Lovingly, tenderly you have lived together; lovingly, tenderly, and beautifully you have separated; lovingly, tenderly and beautifully may you meet again where partings never come.

Funeral from Christian Church at Waynetown, conducted by Rev. Shuey.
